Ear Surgery

After 2 ear infections, several rounds of antibiotics and 3 visits to the ENT, the doctor decided it was time for a tube in Taylor's right ear. The fluid wasn't going away and her hearing was down 40% from where it should be. Her left ear is perfectly fine and responds to medicine. On Friday September 10th we went to the hospital for the surgery. We arrived as instructed at 7:00am and they finally began about 10:26am. After a 3 1/2 hour wait it took less than 15 minutes to clear out the "thick, gooey, taffy like" fluid in her ear, clean out some wax, insert tube, check left ear and remove some wax. She woke up fine with no after effects. We were back home by 12:45pm and had a relaxing afternoon. Now drops for 3 days (today is the last day) which Taylor doesn't like at all. We go back in 3 weeks to have her checked out and another hearing test. Hopefully her hearing will be where it should be.

Waiting and waiting and waiting. Glad there was a TV in the cuby we were assigned to. Can only read for so long. Yodel came along with us. Taylor didn't want him to miss out on all the fun.

First Day of School

Eventhough Taylor goes to the same school year round, today was her first day in her new class. She moved up to the 3/4 year old class which is also considered pre-k. She is with a lot of her friends she made in her Get Started class. She seemed to have a good day participating in all the activities including singing the name song to get to know everyones name. I remember to take the first day of school picture which I didn't do last March. Even Yodel wanted in on the action. He even rode to school with us but stayed in the car.

A Fun Day in New York City!!!

On Saturday Taylor and I ventured into New York City to meet our friend Sue for lunch and a show. We started out at Bubba Gump's for a delicious lunch and Sue got Taylor a sparkly glass (tall glass that has flashing lights at the bottom.) Then we went to the show A Gazillion Bubbles. It is amazing what you can do with bubbles. It was a fun show and we all enjoyed it. Before the show started Taylor got her picture taken in a big bubble. As soon as I power up my scanner I will scan it and post it. We had a great time in the city and can't wait to do it again. Thanks Sue for a memorable day.

Before the show began clapping to Cotton Eyed Joe.

Where did the balloon go?

At the show they give you fans to fan yourself because for part of the show they turn off the AC. After we got home, I tied the balloon that Taylor got at Bubba Gump's to one of the fans so it wouldn't go up into our cathedral ceiling where I wouldn't be able to reach it. Taylor had a good time using the fans to hit the balloon.

Taylor's New Hide Away

Last weekend when Grandma and Ye-Ye Ron stopped by for the weekend on their way back to FL they brought Taylor a really cute ladybug tent for her to play in. They also got a feel of what it will be like at Christmas if they get Taylor anything that is "assembly required!!!!!!" Taylor loves her new tent and had fun in there this afternoon drawing.

Breakfast With The Girls

Today Taylor had breakfast with Allyson, Jessica and Marissa and as usual had a great time with the girls.
