We arrived in Beijing this afternoon on time after a very comfortable, uneventful flight. There were 3 other families that we know of on the plane also getting their daughters this week. For most of the flight when we looked out the window all we saw was snow and more snow. Beijing is sunny and very cold....just like NY/NJ. Looking out our hotel room Beijing looks like any other city. We are in a sauna here in our room. Can't seem to get the air conditioning on. Turned off all the thermostats and opened the windows. The air quality here isn't bad at all. Experienced a grocery store where we went to get more bottled water. Saw Oreos and Chips Ahoy cookies along with a lot of things that we didn't recognize and don't want to know what they are. Went out for Chinese food for dinner. BTW here they just call it food!!!!! Tomorrow is our big sightseeing day. Will FINALLY get to see the Great Wall of China. Will post more tomorrow night with pictures. Good night from Beijing.
